My Visual Essay is the same topic as my Op-Ed and has the same stance/claim as well, targeting a more specific audience.

Cyberbullying

Those so called “haters”, or perpetrators, exist and do their devilry through text, apps, online in social media, forums, or gaming where teens can view, participate in or share content. The sharing of personal and private information can cause embarrassment and humiliation to someone else.

Above are some examples of how the “haters” can reach out to their victims. The first and second examples show how they want to intentionally hurt and humiliate others. The third example does not seem intentionally, but it is still considered as cyberbullying.

When being cyberbullied, these types of messages can occur. It is important for teens not to take it in seriously because it can cause teens go to depression and lead to suicide. If it goes to this tremendous extreme, get an adult to be aware of the situation.

Even if teens feel threatened, adults, specifically parents and teachers, need to be aware that these cases exist. Either in class or at home, it is their responsibility to build up a comfortable environment for the teens to speak up.

Nowadays, the most common places that cyberbullying would occur are the social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, text message, and even email. There is no way where this situation can stop, but that is why it is important for both those in trouble and the adults to be a team to got through this situation together.
